Kelantan Laksa

Nice Foods No Comments »

Do you like East Coast food? One of my favourite food is Kelantan Laksa. The laksa is totally different from Penang style. The noodle is the same, but the soup is totally different.

Kelantan Laksa

Every time, I went to Kelantan, I will not missed two foods which are Kelantan Laksa and Nasi Lauk. The good news is I found a restaurant in KL which serve a very good Kelantan Laksa. The shop is located along MRR2, next to Platinum Victory Condominium. If you are from Ampang direction heading towards Kepong, Gombak, the shop is at your left hand side. You can see there is 1 row of shops next to highway after Platinum Victory Condo and before Balai Bomba. The shop name is Nasi Dagang Ulik Mayang.

But the laksa is only available after 2.00 pm. Beside the laksa, they also serve nasi dagang and some western foods. The address is:

Restoran Nasi Dagang Ulik Mayang

No 55G & 57G, Jalan Melati Utama 4,
Taman Melati Utama, 53100 Setapak Kuala Lumpur.

Kuantan Trip

Last 2 years, I went to Kuantan for a short vacation with my wife. Franky speaking, we really like Kuantan. The beach is nice, food also not bad. We stayed in Swiss Garden, Kuantan. The beach in Swiss Garden is ok only. Of course we cannot compare it to Redang Island, but definitely better than Port Dickson. ;) At least we still dare to go down and play water.

Kuantan also famous with Kopitiam. We try two different shops. The first ones is Kemaman Kopitiam, we have our tea there. The environment and shop interior is nice. But the food is normal only and not cheap. :D

Another interesting place that we visited is Charas Cave, in Panching area. Not very from Kuantan, about 30 km away. And 4 km off the main road, we have to drive thru all palm. estate. Charas Cave is actually a temple cave, with some Buddha figures. At the end of the cave, you can see a big sleeping Buddha. The cave is maintain by an Indian guy. We did donate some money for the temple. It is quite dark in the cave although there are some lights along the path.

The Indian guy told us, some people saw a white snake in the cave. But only lucky people can see it. Some visitors came from Johor just to look for the white snake, but cannot find it. As it depends on your fate with the snake.

After Charas Cave exploration, I started to like exploring caves. Cave is something so beautiful and unique. I feel so peaceful and cooling in the cave. Hope the next round, I can explore Gua Tempurung in Perak. : )
