Hello! Hola! こんにちは! 你好!
Hello, I’m Bryan.
This is my personal blog where I am sharing my journey in retirement planning. My objective is to achieve financial independence, live a simpler life, and to have a fulfilling post-retirement life. Along the way, I realized that many people around me shared the same concerns and uncertainties about retirement -whether they were worried about savings, health, or just figuring out what life after work could look like. That is when I decided to share my journey and experiences through my blog, hoping to make retirement planning less intimidating for others going through the similar situation.
My 2 cents on retirement
To me, retirement is not about ceasing from work. It is a new life phase that is filled with opportunities and adventures. It is a time to rediscover your passion, what you could do with your time, maintain & build new social connections, and find purpose beyond the working life. All these require serious thoughts and planning, hence I created a section solely on post-retirement planning. These topics can make all the difference in enjoying a smooth transition into a fulfilling retirement life.
Retirement planning, the Malaysian style
There are many resources on retirement planning, however, my main focus is on retirement planning as a Malaysian. The typical westernized-advice may not necessarily fit, so I am tailoring my sharings from a Malaysian perspective. I will be sharing investment options, saving ideas, healthcare considerations, lifestyle tweaks – all from my own experience – and hopefully it will benefit you. Some of my favorite topics include investment tools, trading, financial goals – and these are sharings that I hope will give you some insight on making similar decisions for yourself.
Retirement is not all about finance
It is important to remember that retirement is not just about how much you have in the bank. I would like you to think about lifestyle changes and the mental adjustments that come with it. For instance, I talk about how to keep active, finding new hobbies, traveling tips and ideas, volunteering, or even start a small business/side hustle/freelancing. Retirement is a time for growth and exploration, not a period of decline. Transitioning to this new phase can be challenging, and I hope my insights help you approach it with an open mind and excitement for what’s ahead.
My personal stories and experience
I will keep my articles approachable and practical with minimal jargons (if any) and focus on my own stories & experiences that may benefit anyone who reads them. My article is accessible and applicable to people at all stages of their retirement journey. My hope is to inspire people to take proactive steps toward their future, so they can enjoy peace of mind and security when it is time to retire. Through my sharings, I want to encourage you to approach retirement not with worry or fear, but with enthusiasm for the opportunities it brings. Retirement is a chance to redefine what fulfillment means to you.
Finally, thank you for being a listening ear with me on this journey. I hope you find my experiences and sharings useful.
